About The Material
Magnesium is a remarkable metal known for its light weight and
impressive strength.
Often dubbed the “silver-white wonder,” magnesium is the eighth
most abundant element on Earth and
the third most commonly used metal, following iron and aluminum.
It’s a vital component in many of today’s industries,
from aerospace to electronics. When it comes to CNC machining,
magnesium stands out due to its ease of machining and
its ability to produce intricate and precise components. But what
makes magnesium so popular?
Let’s delve into its key characteristics.
►Lightweight
►High Strength-to-Weight Ratio
►Excellent Machinability
►Good Thermal Conductivity
►Electromagnetic Interference Shielding
►Biocompatibility
CNC Machining Tolerances and Standards
With precision CNC machining services, JYH is your ideal partner to
create precision machined prototypes and parts.
Our standard CNC machining tolerances for metals is ISO 2768-f and
for plastics is ISO 2768-m.
We can also achieve special tolerances as long as you indicate your
requirements on your drawing.

Magnesium alloys are also widely used in CNC machining.
The following are some common applications for magnesium alloy CNC
machining:
Medical devices:
The application of magnesium alloy in medical device manufacturing
has also been developed to
a certain extent. Through CNC machining, medical device parts can
be manufactured, such as surgical
instruments, implantable devices, etc. Magnesium alloys have good
biocompatibility and lightweight properties,
which are suitable for some specific medical applications.
Aerospace industry:
Magnesium alloys are also used in the aerospace industry.
Through CNC machining, aerospace parts can be manufactured, such as
the shell of the aircraft engine,
aircraft seats, spacecraft structural parts, etc. The high strength
and lightweight properties of magnesium alloys
make them ideal materials for aerospace applications.
Electronic equipment:
Magnesium alloys are also used in the manufacture of electronic
equipment.
Through CNC machining, electronic equipment enclosures, radiators,
brackets, etc., can be manufactured.
Magnesium alloy has good thermal conductivity, which helps heat
dissipation, and its lightweight characteristics
also meet the needs of thin and light electronic equipment.
Benefits Of CNC Machining Magnesium
Compared with other metals material, magnesium material is also
very easy to pMachining, and the commonly used
processes are: punching, drilling, milling, turning, etc.
