FAQ
How does a cassette type air conditioner work?
The outdoor unit pumps refrigerant. In the cooling mode, the
refrigerant enters the indoor unit's evaporator coil. As warm air
from the room is drawn in by the indoor unit's fan and passes over
the cold evaporator coil, heat is absorbed from the air, cooling it
down. The cooled air is then blown back into the room through the
vents. The refrigerant, now heated, returns to the outdoor unit
where it is compressed and condensed, releasing the heat outside.
In the heating mode, the process is reversed, with the refrigerant
absorbing heat from outside (even in cold weather) and releasing it
indoors.
