D400 Cast Iron Round Manhole Cover With Snap Ring And Lock

D400 round cast iron manhole cover is a heavy manhole cover commonly used in urban roads and other scenes.

The following is an introduction from many aspects:

1. Load and grade basis
According to EN124, GB/T23858-2009 and other standards, "D400" represents the load grade, which can withstand 400 kN load (about 40 tons), suitable for areas with frequent vehicles and high loads, such as urban trunk roads, highways, industrial areas, etc., and can cope with heavy vehicle rolling.

2. Material and performance
Generally made of ductile iron, ductile iron is spheroidized to precipitate spheroidal graphite. Compared with ordinary cast iron, it has better toughness and strength, tensile strength ≥420MPa, yield strength ≥300MPa, crack resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, long service life, in the water spray corrosion test, the corrosion amount is only 1/40 of steel pipe and 1/10 of gray iron pipe.

3. Specifications and dimensions
Common circular diameters include 700mm, 800mm, 900mm, 1000mm, 1200mm, etc., and there are also combined specifications such as 700×900. The minimum thickness is not less than 50mm (different scenarios and manufacturers may have differences), which can cover wellheads of different sizes to meet the needs of municipal and road engineering.

4. Functional design

Anti-slip: The surface is equipped with raised patterns (such as 3mm high patterns), which can increase friction in slippery environments such as rainy days to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.

Anti-theft: There are many anti-theft designs, such as a square groove on the outer ring of the manhole cover, which is connected by a fixed shaft and pin body through the well seat; or it can be opened with a hidden lock or special tools to prevent theft and maintain the integrity of public facilities.

Anti-displacement/settlement: The manhole ring is reserved with riveting bolt holes (such as 4 holes evenly distributed at 90 degrees), which are fixed with bolts to avoid mechanical rolling and displacement during road construction; some U-shaped grooves and T-shaped rubber strips are set at the stop of the manhole ring to play a buffering and anti-settling role, so that the manhole cover fits the road surface.

Anti-damage/noise: Even if the load exceeds the limit, it is not easy to break like an ordinary cast iron manhole cover, and it is only slightly deformed; the manhole cover and the manhole ring are in contact through the T-shaped rubber strip to buffer and reduce shock, reduce noise, and improve the user experience.

Application scenarios

Widely used in urban trunk roads, highways, and expressways, bearing a large number of vehicle loads; also suitable for industrial areas, ports (where heavy machinery passes), construction sites (heavy vehicles come and go), etc., to ensure the safety of the wellhead, prevent people and objects from falling, and maintain the normal operation of underground facilities (such as drainage and cable pipelines).
