| Cold Runner Three Plate Mold is a type of injection mold used in
the manufacturing of plastic parts. It consists of three main
plates: the cavity plate, the core plate, and the runner plate. The
cavity plate and core plate form the actual shape of the part being
produced, while the runner plate is used to create the channels
through which the molten plastic flows into the mold cavity. The term "cold runner" refers to the fact that the channels through which the plastic flows are not heated, which can lead to cooling and solidification of the plastic material within the channels. This can result in waste material, as the solidified plastic in the runners must be removed and discarded. |
