Introduction
Speaking of fuel pumps, most car owners may not know what this is.
Today we will understand that the fuel pump is installed at the
lowest part of the fuel tank and its job is to pump fuel to the
engine.
In fact, the fuel pump is equivalent to the heart in our body. It
is responsible for transporting blood to the body, so if the
gasoline pump is broken or blocked, it cannot deliver fuel to the
generator.
Fuel pump installation location
The fuel pump is located in the car's fuel tank, which is located
in the rear seat of the car, or under the trunk. The main function
of the fuel pump is to supply fuel to the engine. The fuel pump
delivers the high pressure and high pressure fuel pump to the fuel
distribution pipe to ensure continuous fuel supply to the fuel
injection nozzle. The fuel pump is composed of an electric motor, a
pressure limiter, and a check valve. The electric motor actually
works in the fuel in the oil pump housing, don’t worry, because
there is nothing in the housing that can be ignited, the fuel can
lubricate and cool the fuel motor, the oil outlet is equipped with
a check valve, and the pressure limiter is located at the pressure
of the oil pump housing On the side, there is a channel leading to
the oil inlet.
Built-in: integrated with the assembly, installed vertically in the
mailbox. Features: Low noise, not easy to produce air resistance.
The safety pipeline is easy to install.
External type: connected in series in the oil pipeline outside the
mailbox. It is characterized by large installation freedom,
convenient replacement and high air-tightness requirements.
At present, the fuel pump of most models is installed in the car
mailbox and driven by electricity. The fuel pump is composed of a
pump body, a permanent magnet motor and a shell. When the permanent
magnet motor is energized, the pump body is driven to rotate, and
the fuel is sucked in from the fuel inlet, flows through the inside
of the electric fuel, and then is pressed out from the fuel outlet
to supply fuel to the fuel system. The fuel flows through the
inside of the electric fuel to cool the armature of the permanent
magnet motor, also known as the wet fuel pump.
How to tell if the fuel pump is broken
Method 1: Turn on the ignition switch, do not start the engine, you
can hear the petrol pump working for 1-2 seconds, you can judge
whether the petrol pump is working.
Method 2: Unplug the fuel pump relay, connect the fuel pump circuit
with a dedicated jumper, turn on the ignition switch, do not start
the engine, the fuel pump can work, indicating that the fuel pump
is normal.
Method 3: Connect the oil pressure gauge to see if the engine can
build up the oil pressure of about 250KPA, and if the oil pressure
builds up quickly, if the oil pressure can be established normally,
the oil pump can work. Then turn off the engine ignition switch to
see if the oil pressure is quickly released (whether the oil
pressure drops quickly) to determine whether the pressure relief
valve of the oil pump is normal (normal oil pressure can be
maintained so that the engine can start normally next time).
Method 4: Connect the circuit to the fuel pump, and use a special
measuring tool (such as a beaker) to measure whether the fuel
output and return of the fuel pump are normal.
