Description
A hydraulic accumulator is an energy storage device in a
hydropneumatic system. It converts the energy in the system into
compression energy or potential energy at the appropriate time and
stores it. When the system needs it, it converts the compression
energy or potential energy into hydraulic or pneumatic energy and
releases it, and resupplys the system. When the pressure of the
system increases instantaneously, it can absorb this part of the
energy to ensure the normal pressure of the whole system. Hydraulic
oil is an incompressible liquid, so hydraulic oil cannot accumulate
pressure energy, and must rely on other media to convert and
accumulate pressure energy. For example, a bladder-type gas-filled
accumulator developed using the compressible properties of gas
(nitrogen) is a device for accumulating hydraulic oil. The bladder
accumulator consists of an oil part and a gas part with an air
seal, and the oil around the bladder is connected to the oil
circuit. When the pressure rises, the oil enters the accumulator,
and the gas is compressed until the system pipeline pressure no
longer rises; when the pipeline pressure drops, the compressed air
expands and pushes the oil into the circuit, thereby slowing the
decline of the pipeline pressure. Hydraulic accumulators serve two
purposes. ①When the flow required by the load is less than the flow
of the hydraulic pump during low-speed motion, the excess flow of
the hydraulic pump is stored in the accumulator. When the flow
required by the load is greater than the flow of the hydraulic
pump, the liquid is released from the accumulator to make up for
the insufficient flow of the hydraulic pump. . ②When the machine
stops but still needs to maintain a certain pressure, the hydraulic
pump can be stopped and the leakage of the system can be
compensated by the accumulator to maintain the pressure of the
system.
Hydraulic accumulators can also be used to absorb pressure
pulsations from hydraulic pumps or to absorb hydraulic shock
pressures generated in the system. The pressure in the accumulator
can be generated by compressed gas, weight or spring, and the
accumulator is divided into gas type, weight type and spring type
accordingly. The gas accumulator in the gas accumulator is in
direct contact with the liquid, which is called the contact type.
It has a simple structure and a large capacity, but it is easy to
mix gas into the liquid, and is often used in hydraulic presses.
Gas and liquid are not in contact with the so-called isolation
type, commonly used to isolate the bladder and diaphragm, the
volume of the bladder changes a large amount, the volume of the
diaphragm is small, often used to absorb pressure pulsation. The
heavy hammer type has a large capacity and is often used in systems
such as rolling mills for energy storage.
