The warehouse storage racking system is a FIFO( first in, first out) static storage system with a stable structure, which is widely used in distribution centers, retail store inventory rooms, cold storage applications, wholesale stores, and many other applications.

It is called “selective” because 100% selectivity is its most prominent feature. In a selective pallet rack system, racks are aligned in single rows or back-to-back rows providing single deep pallet storage. Aisles are located between every single row or back-to-back row so that forklifts can get access to every pallet directly without moving away other pallets.

• FIFO inventory rotation direction: It means the first stored pallet will be picked up first as well, which ensures perishable products or products with short shelf life can circulate quickly and effectively.

• 100% selectivity: Since each row of pallets adjoins an aisle, every pallet is completely accessible without removing other pallets, making storage and retrieval operation convenient and fast.

• Cost-effective: It is the least expensive rack system in the present market. With a simple structure, the cost of maintenance is also low.

• Excellent compatibility: The aisles designed for selective pallet rack systems are suitable for many material handling equipment styles to store and pick products stored on racks.

• Easy assembly: It is easy to install and dismantle since our rack beams can simply lock into upright columns and are secured in place with safety clips, saving time and labor costs greatly.

• Good adjustability: The height of each bay and the load capacity of rack beams can be adjusted to accommodate pallet cargoes with different sizes and weights according to customers’ demands.

Structure of selective rack

Selective pallet rack includes the following 6 basic components:

• Upright frame: Bear for the whole system.
• Horizontal brace: Disperse force between the upright frames.
• Load beams: Connect 2 upright frames and is the place to put pallets.
• Pallet support: Support load beams that keep pallets stable.
• Footplate: Connect the upright frames to the floor and keep the system steady.
• Guard rail: Protect the system from collisions.

Tips for Selective Pallet Rack System

• In the selective pallet rack system, the floor space dedicated to aisles occupies a large portion of all the floor space available in the warehouse, which means its storage density is limited to some degree. So if you are going to store a high volume of stock, it may be not cost-effective to choose selective pallet racks.

• Selectivity is prior to storage density in the system. Hence, it is ideal for warehouses with low storage space occupation and high SKU differentiation.

• It is advisable to add some safety accessories such as wire decks, upright protectors, guard rails, etc. into the system to provide extra protection so as to minimize damage caused by daily usage.
