Factor of quality
Quality factor Q is a physical quantity representing coil quality,
Q is the ratio of inductive reactance XL to its equivalent
resistance, that is, Q=XL/R. It refers to the ratio of the
inductive reactance of an inductor to its equivalent loss
resistance when operating at a certain frequency of AC voltage. The
higher the Q value of inductor is, the lower the loss is and the
higher the efficiency is. The Q value of the coil is related to the
DC resistance of the wire, the dielectric loss of the skeleton, the
loss caused by the shield or iron core, and the influence of the
skin effect of high frequency. Coil Q values are usually tens to
hundreds. The inductor quality factor is related to the dc
resistance of the coil wire, the dielectric loss of the coil frame,
the loss caused by the core and the shield.
Folded distributed capacitance
Any inductor coil has certain capacitance between turns, between
layers, between coils and reference ground, between coils and
magnetic shield, etc., which is called the distributed capacitance
of the inductor coil. These distributed capacitors, when combined,
form an equivalent capacitance C in parallel with the inductor
coil. The existence of distributed capacitance reduces the Q value
of the coil and deteriorates its stability, so the smaller the
distributed capacitance of the coil, the better.
Folding current rating
The rated current is the maximum current allowed to pass through
the inductor when the inductor is in normal operation. If the
working current exceeds the rated current, the inductor will change
its performance parameters because of heating, and even burn out
because of overcurrent.
Folding allowable deviation
Allowable deviation refers to the allowable error between the
nominal inductance on the inductor and the actual inductance.
Generally used in oscillating or filtering circuit inductors
require high precision, allowable deviation is ±0.2[%]~±0.5[%]; The
precision requirements for coupling and high-frequency choke coils
are not high; The allowed deviation is ±10[%] to 15[%].
