Because of the manufacturing process, the technical specifications for waterproof breathable fabric are significantly higher than those for conventional waterproof fabric. Oxford fabric has a water repellent coating that causes water droplets to roll off the surface rather than soak into the fabric, as well as a thin texture and a soft feel.
