using a suction pump, tubing and a dressing to remove excess
exudate and promote healing in acute or chronic wounds and second-
and third-degree burns.Negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) was
first described as cupping in 1500 BC. It was named in 1952 as
NPWT. The procedure was used to remove excess fluid in wounds.
