FOCUS Brand 55gsm 100% Virgin Wood Pulp Carbonless Paper Computer Form
CB (coated back)
CFB (coated front and back)
CF (coated front)
CB – top sheet. As a result of writing pressure, the microcapsules in the coating on the reverse side of the sheet are destroyed and the colour formers contained in them are released. This sheet grade is therefore pressure sensitive and requires correct handling.
CFB – middle sheet in the form set and is coated on the front side
with an absorbent receiving coating. During writing the released
colour formers are absorbed and create an immediate colour reaction
on the front of the sheet. The reverse side is coated with the same
coating as the CB sheet. This sheet grade is therefore pressure
sensitive and requires correct handling.
CF – bottom sheet. The front side is coated with the same receiving
coating as the CFB sheet. This sheet grade is not pressure
sensitive and can be handled as normal coated paper.
Carbonless paper, also known as NCR paper, Non carbon copy paper, self copy paper, auto copy paper etc, is a kind of paper coated by Microcapsule and/or color Developer. It including CB, CFB & CF.
Normally, in a multiple ply NCR documents, the top sheet is CB and bottom sheet is CF, all the other sheets between is CFB.

HOW CARBONLESS PAPER WORKS?
When writing on the top of multiple ply NCR documents, the pressure from the writing instrument causes the microcapsules (on the back of CB & CFB) break, the contains will react with the developer (on the front of CFB & CF) and finally realize auto copy.
