Easy Maintenance Crane Coupling Protect The Prime Mover For Industrial Equipment
Crane Coupling Introduction:
Couplings are connections between shafts. On the crane, the torque of the motor is transmitted to the low-speed shaft through the reducer and coupling to complete the work of lifting the load, running the trolley and running the crane. Commonly used are gear couplings, elastic pin couplings, etc., and gear couplings are more commonly used on cranes.
Classification of Crane Couplings:
1. Crane cross coupling
The Oldham coupling is generally installed between the low-speed
shaft end of the reducer and the wheel. It has the advantages of
simple structure and large transmission torque, and it is more
demanding on the installation accuracy. After using for a period of
time, it is necessary to add lubricating oil to the sliding surface
corresponding to the Oldham coupling.
2. Crane gear coupling
Gear coupling is a widely used compensation coupling. Gear
couplings can be divided into full-tooth couplings and half-tooth
couplings according to different structures. The advantages of this
coupling are small size, large transmission torque, and can
effectively compensate for the offset at both ends of the
connecting shaft. However, the cost of this type of coupling is
often high, the manufacturing process is complex, and the
installation accuracy is high.
Safe use of couplings:
The coupling is the intermediate connecting part of each motion
mechanism, which has a direct impact on the normal operation of
each motion mechanism. Therefore, when using it, you must pay
attention to:
① The coupling is not allowed to exceed the specified axis line
skew and radial displacement, so as not to affect its transmission
performance.
② The bolts of the coupling shall not be loose or damaged.
③ The gear coupling and the cross coupling should be lubricated
regularly, and grease should be added once every 2 to 3 months to
avoid severe wear of the gear teeth and cause serious consequences.
④ The contact length of the tooth width of the gear coupling shall
not be less than 70%; its axial movement shall not be greater than
5mm.
⑤ The coupling is not allowed to have cracks, if there are cracks,
it needs to be replaced (it can be hit with a small hammer, and
judged according to the sound).
⑥ The keys of the coupling should be closely matched and not loose.
⑦ The tooth thickness of the gear coupling is worn out. When the
hoisting mechanism exceeds 15% of the original tooth thickness, and
the running mechanism exceeds 25%, it should be scrapped, and if
there are broken teeth, it should be scrapped.
⑧ If the elastic ring of the pin coupling and the sealing ring of
the gear coupling are damaged and aged, they should be replaced in
time.
