Product Description
High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) can be used to separate and identify different large biomolecules such as protein and peptides in a sample. It is based on the pumping of a sample with a solvent (mobile phase) through a column packed with sorbent material (stationary phase) at a high pressure. HPLCinstruments consist of a reservoir of mobilephase, a pump, an injector, a separation column, and adetector. Compounds are separated by injecting a sample mixtureonto the column. The different component in the mixture pass through thecolumn atdifferentiates due to differencesintheirpartition behavior between the mobile phase and thestationary phase. The mobile phase must be degassed to eliminate theformation of air bubbles.
