Basic principle of reverse osmosis:
When two different solutions of pure water and brine are half
permeable between the membrane, the pure water with lower
concentration will permeate into the brine. The liquid level
difference generated by the equilibrium state is called osmotic
pressure. If enough pressure is applied to the surface of the salt
water (i.e. greater than the osmotic pressure), the water will flow
in the opposite direction. This phenomenon is called reverse
osmosis.

The instrument (sensor) parameters of the water treatment system
must be calibrated every 3-6 months to ensure the accuracy of
equipment parameters. Because of the difference of surface water
sources, the types of operating problems of reverse osmosis
equipment are not the same in different places. Therefore, users
should carefully analyze the running status of their own system.
Especially in the characteristics of membrane pollution and system
cleaning should be explored according to the actual situation to
find out the solution to the problem suitable for the system.
For the outage protection process of reverse osmosis system, if
conditions exist, it is recommended to adopt a suitable way for
long-term protection. Avoid physical damage of reverse osmosis
membrane caused by frequent start-stop under short-term protection
or low pressure flushing conditions.
To sum up: the operating conditions of the reverse osmosis system
with surface water as the water source are more complex than those
of the underground water source. In order to achieve good operation
effect, it is necessary to check the design, manufacture and
operation of the equipment. Especially the optimization of the
operating conditions and the management of the operating system are
the key to the health of the equipment.
