Large Seawater Reverse Osmosis Plant Desalination RO System
What is the Seawater Desalination RO System?
The reverse osmosis(RO) process is the core process of seawater
desalination and is mainly used to treat the salt water with high
TDS than 10000ppm. It consists of a High pressure pump followed by an Energy Recovery
device and the Reverse Osmosis Membranes. In this process sea water is forced against semi-permeable
membranes under pressure in a continuous flow condition. The high
salt content of sea water requires that the operating pressure for
Reverse Osmosis must be between 60-70 bar. As the water permeates
through the membrane most of the dissolved impurities removed and
99.5% of the total salt is removed. The impurities are left behind
in the flowing water and the concentrated stream from the membranes
is discharged to the ocean.

requirements.

Working Process of Seawater Desalination RO System
Raw water pump→ mechanical filter(quartz sand filter)→ activated
carbon filter→sodium-ion exchanger(water softener)→ security
filter→ high pressure pump →Reverse osmosis→ Ozone sterilizer (UV
sterilizer)
How Does a Desalination System Work?
The high salt content, high hardness of seawater, strong
corrosiveness to equipment, and seasonal changes in water
temperature make the reverse osmosis seawater desalination system
much more complicated than the traditional brackish water
desalination system, and the engineering investment and energy
consumption are much more higher. Therefore, it is particularly
important to reduce the project investment and energy consumption
through careful process design and reasonable equipment
configuration, thereby reducing the unit cost of water production
and ensuring the stable operation of the system.

cannot be used by the pipe network flows back to the clean water
tank, it must be activated again, and then it will be supplied to
the user after disinfection, completely eliminating the stagnant
water;
