Amber or Cobalt Blue Glass: This is the gold standard.
Non-Reactive: Glass does not interact with the potent chemical compounds in essential oils.
UV Protection: The dark colors prevent light from degrading the oil.
Pure & Impermeable: It won't leach chemicals and creates a perfect barrier.
Why Plastic is a Problem:
Reactivity: Essential oils are potent solvents. They can degrade plastic, causing it to melt or leach harmful chemicals (like phthalates and BPA) into your oil.
Permeability: Over time, the volatile aromatic molecules can evaporate right through the plastic walls, ruining your oil and its therapeutic properties.
Contamination: The degraded plastic contaminates the oil.
Exception: Only use HDPE (cloudy, #2) plastic for very short-term storage of diluted blends (like rollerball mixtures), as it is more resistant. Never use PET or other clear plastics.
Glass Roller Balls:
Usage: Screw onto a standard essential oil bottle to turn it into a convenient roll-on applicator.
Ideal For: Applying pre-diluted blends directly to skin (e.g., for relaxation, sleep, or pain relief).
Euro Droppers:
Usage: Replace the standard orifice reducer cap.
Ideal For: Making custom blends, adding oils to DIY projects (soaps, cleaners), and measuring precise amounts.
Travel Caps / Safety Caps:
Usage: Replace the standard cap with a child-safe one that requires pushing down while turning to open.
Important For: Households with children and for travel to prevent accidental opening.
Empty Bottle Kits: Available in various sizes and configurations (with orifice reducers, rollerballs, droppers) for DIY projects and blending.
