Requirment about the Slide Gate Plate in Ladle

In the normal flowing controlling conditions, The slide gate plate is very easy be thermally attacked by the molten steel at high temperature and worn down of sliding surface.

Under the harsh conditions, in order to ensure the safety, reliability and high service life of the slide gate plate, the slide gate plate (as functional refractories) for continuous casting is desired to own the high thermal shock resistance, spalling resistance, erossion resistance, and corresponding structural characteristics, etc.

In order to smelt clean and pure steel, it is necessary to research and develop the slide gate plate (flow control refractory) with purifying function for molten steel. Zirconia has the inactive chemical properties at high temperature, and do not active with the smelt steel liquid and slag, so it is the best choice to choose the zirconia material as the refractory material touched the steel liquid directly.

Alumina with the graphite series of material slide gate plate, such as Alumina-Carbon, Alumina-Zirconia-Carbon,Magnesia-Carbon.etc. has the low sliding times, usually 1 or 2 times.
