Multimode OM4 12 core MPO-MPO 3.0mm 1m Fiber Cable High Durability ISO/IEC 24764
Description:
MPO connectors feature male and female connector design.
The MTP / MPO connectors can be mass terminated in combinations of
4, 8, or 12 fiber ribbon cables. The MPO Adapter comes standard in
black.
OM3 fiber comes with an aqua color jacket. Like the OM2, its core size is 50 µm, but the cable is optimized for laser based equipment. OM3 supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet at lengths up to 300 meters. Besides, OM3 is able to support 40 Gigabit and 100 Gigabit Ethernet up to 100 meters, however, 10 Gigabit Ethernet is most commonly used.
The real difference between OM3 and OM4 multimode cable is that OM4 provides a higher modal bandwidth--4700 MHz·km compared to 2000 MHz·km for OM3. This means that OM4 can transmit more information within the same distance.
