Characteristic
1. Pure nickel material has good corrosion resistance in NaOH solution of any concentration and temperature and molten NaOH above 400°C. Pure nickel material has good corrosion resistance to Na2O2, Na2CO3, NaHCO3 and alkaline solution or molten liquid containing KNO3.
2. Pure nickel is a silver-white metal with a density of 8.9g/cm3 and a melting point of 1453°C. It has excellent corrosion resistance because the surface is oxidized to form a dense and strong protective film at room temperature; pure nickel has excellent welding performance and processing performance, and can be processed into products such as pipes, rods, strips, and foils.


Surface Quality
(1) The surface of the strip should be smooth and clean, and there should be no wind layer, cracks, bubbles, thorns, pressure and folding inclusions;
(2) Slight local defects such as scratches, spots, pits, indentations and roll marks are allowed. Slight oxidation color, darkening and slight local oil stains are not allowed. Scrap basis;
(3) Both sides of the strip should be cut evenly without burrs, cracks and curling.
(4) The strip should be straight, but slight waves are allowed; the side curvature of the strip is greater than 3 mm per meter of cloth.
Application example: used in the manufacture of chemical equipment such as pipelines, heat exchangers, evaporators, heaters, reactors, etc.; targets for various coatings; electrodes, etc.

Corrosion resistance of pure nickel

Pure nickel is particularly resistant to alkali corrosion, and is relatively stable in high temperature or molten alkali, so it is mainly used in the alkali industry. Nickel is extremely stable in seawater and salt solutions and organic media (such as fatty acids, phenols, alcohols, etc.) at room temperature. Not resistant to inorganic acid corrosion, also unstable in acetic acid and formic acid.


According to GB2054-2005, the difference between N4 and N6 is:

1. Chemical composition, the content of N4 C is less than 0.02%, the content of N6 C is less than 0.15%, and the content of other elements is the same;

2. Mechanical properties, in M state, N4 Rm≥350MPa, N6 Rm≥380MPa

Remarks: N4 and N6 are shown above, mainly because of the difference in C content. N4 is called low-carbon pure nickel, and the content of other elements is the same. Due to the low-carbon nature of N4, it is suitable for use in some specific situations, so it is better to communicate with customers. Use the environment or purpose to avoid unnecessary trouble.
