10mm/16mm Elevator Slide Speed Guide Shoe Quiet High-Speed Elevator Operation
In the intricate ecosystem of a modern elevator system, the slide speed guide shoe is a fundamental component dedicated to safety, stability, and passenger comfort. Its primary function is to guide the elevator car along the guide rails installed in the hoistway, ensuring precise vertical travel while minimizing lateral movement, vibration, and noise.
Unlike traditional roller guide shoes that use wheels, slide guide shoes employ a friction-based design. They typically consist of a sturdy metal bracket, often cast or forged steel, that holds a replaceable lining or shoe made of a composite material. This lining, commonly crafted from materials like polyurethane, nylon, or specialized polymers, is engineered for low friction, high durability, and excellent wear resistance. It is this lining that makes direct contact with the guide rail, "sliding" against it as the car moves.
The "speed" in its name is a critical differentiator. Slide guide shoes are specifically designed and certified for use in high-speed and high-rise elevator applications. While they are suitable for a wide range of speeds, their design becomes essential in systems where travel velocity exceeds 2.5 meters per second (approximately 500 feet per minute). At these higher speeds, the forces acting on the car are greater, demanding a guide system that offers superior damping characteristics to absorb vibrations and ensure a smooth ride quality. The material properties of the shoe lining play a key role in dampening high-frequency vibrations that could otherwise be transmitted into the car.
The advantages of slide speed guide shoes are significant. They provide exceptional ride smoothness and are remarkably quiet in operation, a crucial factor for high-end residential and commercial buildings. Their simple, robust design has fewer moving parts than roller guides, which can translate to lower maintenance requirements over the long term. However, they do operate on a principle of friction, which is inherently higher than the rolling friction of wheel-based guides. Modern materials have drastically reduced this coefficient of friction, but it remains a consideration for overall system efficiency.

FAQ
1. Are the elevator wire ropes durable?
The elevator wire rope has special provisions and requirements.
Configuration is not only for wire rope and rated load, but also
considered the size of the traction, as a result, the tensile
strength of wire rope is greater than the weight of the lift. The
safety factor is equipped with more than four wire rope. So it
won’t break at the same time.
2. Is it dangerous for power failure suddenly during the elevator
running?
If it occurs, the elevator will automatically stop due to the
electrical and mechanical safety device. In case of power
failure, elevator brakes will automatically taken. In addition, the
power supply departments such as planned outage, prior notice are
also operating.
3. Will us be hurt when it closed suddenly?
In the closing process, if people touch the hall door, the door of
elevator will automatically restart without any danger. With anti
clamping switch, once the gate touched, this switching action make
the elevator unable to be closed and even reopened. In addition,
closing force is also available here.
4. How the elevator running?
Elevators are operated with a counterweight wire rope through the
(tractor) traction drive, making ups and downs on the guide rail.
5. Is the escalator installation complicated?
We believe the functions of an escalator are not necessarily
proportional to the operation complexity. Therefore, escalators
designed by us apply an integrated structure, so that the equipment
is more precise and more efficient and allows easier and more
convenient commissioning.
6. Do you have any cerifications?
Yes, we do with ISO9001 / CCC / CE Certificates for u.
