Introduction
This Asphaltenes Testing Equipment is suitable for petroleum products and samples whose temperature is
lower than 80ºC and can flow. It is also suitable for the
measurement of petroleum asphalt and residual oil.
A membrane filter of known weight is filtered, then dried, and then
the weight of the insoluble matter filtered by the membrane filter
is weighed. The principle of measuring asphalt is to use n-heptane
to precipitate asphaltenes from the sample. After filtering, use
n-heptane to reflux to remove the soluble components contained in
the precipitate, and then use toluene to reflux to dissolve the
precipitate to obtain asphaltenes. The deasphalted part is adsorbed
on an alumina chromatographic column, and then washed out with
n-heptane (or petroleumether), toluene, toluene-ethanol, and
correspondingly saturated components, aromatic components, and gums
are obtained.
