Artemisia Annua Extract Artemisinin 98% Used To Antibacterial
Effect
Artemisia annua is an annual herb, which belongs to Artemisia
Artemisia. The plant height is more than 40-150 cm, and the whole
growth period is about 120 days. Like wet, avoid drought, afraid of
waterlogging, sufficient light requirements. The medicinal value of
Artemisia annua is very high. The derivatives of artemisinin can
produce many series of drugs. Artemisinin is mainly used for
malaria, tuberculosis, hot flashes, heatstroke, pruritus,
urticaria, seborrheic dermatitis and mosquito control. The whole
grass can be used as medicine, washed and fresh used or dried in
the sun. Artemisia annua is coarse, easy to manage, short growth
period, less investment and quick income.
[efficacy of Artemisia annua extract]
The main functions of Artemisia annua extract produced are as
follows:
1. Antimalarial effect
The results showed that the neutral part extracted from ether of
Artemisia annua L. and its dilute alcohol extract had significant
antimalarial effects on mice malaria, monkey malaria and human
malaria. In vivo experiments showed that artemisinin had a killing
effect on the erythrocytic phase of Plasmodium, but had no effect
on the extraerythrocytic phase and erythrocytic phase. Artemisinin
can inhibit protozoan maturation rapidly. The antimalarial effect
of artemether emulsion is better than that of reduced artemisinin
sodium succinate water solution. It is an ideal dosage form for the
treatment of pernicious malaria.
2. Antibacterial effect
Artemisia annua decoction has strong antibacterial effect on
Staphylococcus epidermidis, catarrhalis, anthrax bacillus,
Diphtheria Bacillus, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa,
dysentery bacilli, tuberculous stem bacteria and so on. At 0.25%
concentration, the volatile oil of Artemisia annua has
antibacterial effect on all dermatophytes, and at 1% concentration,
it has bactericidal effect on all dermatophytes. Artemisinin has
anti influenza effect. Artesunate sodium has certain antibacterial
effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Shigella flexneri, Escherichia
coli, catarrhalis, and stalk bacteria of paratyphoid A and B.
Sitosterol and stigmasterol in Artemisia annua also have antiviral
effect.
3. Antiparasitic effect
The ether extract, alcohol extract and artemisinin of Artemisia
annua have significant antimalarial effects on mice malaria, monkey
malaria and human malaria. The results showed that artemisinin had
direct killing effect on Plasmodium. The results of electron
microscopy showed that artemisinin mainly acted on the membrane
structure of Plasmodium falciparum erythrocytic phase, first acting
on the food color membrane, surface membrane and mitochondrial
membrane, followed by nuclear membrane and endoplasmic reticulum.
In addition, it also affects the chromosome in nucleus. Because of
the change of food vesicle membrane, the early stage of malaria
parasite's intake of nutrition was blocked, so that the Plasmodium
rapidly developed amino acid starvation, formed autophagic
vesicles, and constantly discharged from the body, resulting in a
large loss of vacuolar plasma and internal structure disintegration
and death. Artemisinin has the characteristics of high curative
effect, fast antipyretic time and rapid negative transformation of
protozoa in vivax malaria, falciparum malaria and falciparum
malaria in chloroquine resistant areas. It is especially suitable
for rescuing dangerous malaria, but with high relapse rate. In
addition, Artemisia annua also has anti Schistosoma and Leptospira.
4. Antipyretic effect
Artemisia annua injection prepared by distillation method has
obvious antipyretic effect on rabbits with fever induced by Baibai
and tetanus vaccine. Artemisia annua and honeysuckle were used to
prepare Qingyin injection by distillation. The antipyretic effect
of Qingyin injection was more significant than that of single
Artemisia annua injection in rabbits with fever caused by typhoid,
paratyphoid A and B vaccine. Its cooling characteristics were rapid
and lasting, which was better than that of Bupleurum and Antongding
Injection. Honeysuckle and Artemisia annua have synergistic
antipyretic effect.
