Against Impact Differential Piezoresistive Barometric Pressure Sensor

Description

The pressure is applied to the front of the silicon measuring element via a thin steel diaphragm and a transmission mediumof silicone oil. This silicon measuring element has a microme-chanically produced membrane structure. It contains implantedpiezoresistive resistors connected in a Wheatstone bridge. Thereference pressure (gases only) is fed via a hose nipple (dia. 3.5) to the rear of the measuring element. When there is a pressuredifference between the front and rear of the measuring element, the bridge is unbalanced and an output signal proportional tothe pressure is generated

The thermal effects are mainly compensated by individually tu- ned resistors built into the sensor. The sensor is ground-isolated.

Applications

One of the main applications of this sensor is to measure static and dynamic pressures. The difference in pressure from thereference pressure is measured. Under normal conditions, thereference pressure will be equal to the ambient pressure. Thesensors are calibrated to detect an overpressure, so should only be used in that area. The fact that the media is separated by a steel diaphragm means that the sensor can be used in most applications. The steel diaphragms and the silicone oil filling have no effect on the dynamic behavior of the sensor. The sensor is used with the amplifier Type 4603B.

Features

  • Microfused under 500°C, good longterm stability
  • 17-4 PH stainless steel, without weld seams, O-rings, and free of leakage risks
  • advanced digital temperature compensation, wide working temperature scope
  • High accuracy, high frequency response, good long-term stability
  • Excellent resistance against impact, overload, shock and erosion
  • Efficient lightning protection and strong anti RFI&EMI protection.
  • adopt to high-pressure overload, max range can reach 6000Bar

Reference pressure

The media to be used for the reference pressure are restricted to dry, non-corroding gases. Due to the length of the pipe, the reference pressure can only be measured as a static pressure. The hose nipple (dia. 3.5) can be removed

Calibration current

The sensor is supplied with a constant current, whose value isdetermined by factory calibration. This calibration current andzero point are shown separately for each sensor in the calibra-tion certificate. These values can be adjusted on amplifier Type4603B. The calibration current and the zero point are definedto give a sensor output signal of 500 mV for a pressure of100 %FS.
