Acme Lead Screws Square Thread Acme Long Bar Acme Roll Thread Bar Carbon Steel Stainless Steel Barss
Product features and applications
ACME threads are now extensively used for a variety of purposes, valve stems, feed screws, jack
screws, carriage-run screws and similar applications because they are superior at generating power
for motion
Found in hand-powered clamps, vises, grates, doors, and work
tables, lead screws and nuts have broad, square threads that are
well suited for quick assembly, high clamping forces, and lifting
and lowering heavy objects. To ensure compatibility, please select components that have the
same thread direction and size.
Carbon steel components are easier to machine than alloy steel
components. Zinc-plated carbon steel components have mild corrosion resistance. Alloy steel components are harder and stronger than carbon steel
components. Cast iron components have good machinability and high strength. 360 brass components have excellent machinability and good
corrosion resistance. 932 bearing bronze components are more wear resistant than brass
components. They have good machinability and fair corrosion resistance. 18-8 stainless steel components have good corrosion resistance. 316 stainless steel components have excellent corrosion resistance.
Travel distance per turn, also known as screw lead, is the distance
a nut or handle moves with one revolution of the lead screw.
are long, solid cylindrical bars that are continuously threaded
from end to end with external machine screw threads. Typically 1000
mm (1 meter) long, they are similar to threaded studs but studs are
usually less than 200 mm in length. Commonly referred to as "all
thread" or "all thread rod," they are used in a variety of
fastening applications especially when a long fastener is required
but the length exceeds that of available bolts. Being headless,
nuts may be used at each end particularly in situations like
through-hole bolting and anchoring. Threaded rod can be cut to the
desired length although the tips of plated steel rod could then be
susceptible to rust (a zinc-rich cold galvanizing compound is
sometimes used to coat exposed steel rod ends). Available in steel,
Class 4.6 and 8.8; Grade B7 alloy; and stainless steel. Coarse
right-hand thread is standard but some types can be supplied with
fine and extra fine threads. Finishes for steel are plain finish
(unplated and susceptible to rust) and zinc plated. Measure
threaded rods from end to end.
