Electrolytic Tinplate Sheets with Bright Surface for Food and
Beverage Cans and Corrosion Resistance
Definition and composition:
Electrolytic tinplate refers to a cold-rolled thin steel plate with
a very thin layer of metal tin on both sides, commonly known as
tinplate. It combines the hardness and strength of steel with the
weldability, corrosion resistance and bright appearance of tin.
Features:
1. Good corrosion resistance: The tin layer can effectively block
the contact between air, moisture and organic acids in food and
beverages and the steel plate, prevent the steel plate from rusting
and corroding, and extend the service life of food and beverage
cans. For example, in canned carbonated beverages, it can resist
the erosion of acidic substances such as carbonic acid.
2. Bright surface: It has a bright and smooth surface and beautiful
appearance, which provides a good visual effect for food and
beverage cans, helps the packaging design and brand display of
products, and attracts consumers' attention.
3. Non-toxic and harmless: Tin is a non-toxic metal that will not
pollute food and beverages, meets food hygiene and safety
standards, and ensures the quality and safety of the contents.
4. Easy to process and shape: It has good ductility and
flexibility, and is easy to perform stamping, stretching, bending
and other processing operations. It can be made into food and
beverage cans of various shapes and sizes to meet the packaging
needs of different products.
5. Excellent weldability: The tin layer makes the tinplate easy to
weld during the canning process, and can achieve a firm connection
between the can body and the bottom and cover of the can, ensuring
the sealing of the can body and preventing leakage of the contents.
Application areas:
1. Food packaging: It is widely used in the packaging of various
canned foods, such as canned meat, canned fruit, canned vegetables,
etc., which can effectively protect food from the influence of the
external environment and extend the shelf life of food.
2. Beverage packaging: It is a common material for beverage
packaging such as cans, such as cans of carbonated beverages, beer,
tea beverages, etc. It has good sealing and corrosion resistance,
and can ensure the quality and taste of beverages.
Market development trend:
1. Improved environmental protection requirements: With the
enhancement of environmental awareness, environmentally friendly
processes such as chromium-free passivation and low-tin tin plating
will be more widely used to reduce pollution to the environment.
2. Performance improvement: In order to meet the higher
requirements of the food and beverage industry for packaging,
tinplate will continue to develop in the direction of high
strength, high corrosion resistance, better processing performance,
etc., to improve the quality and safety of packaging.

FAQ
What does one set of three-piece can consist of?
Three-piece cans consist of a welded body and a sanitary end. The
welded body will be
sealed with sanitary end or easy-open end on bottom.
What is the packing of three-piece cans?
The welded body will be packed on the pallet and we will wind the
cans with LLDPE film
The sanitary(plain) end will be packed with paper or LLDPE film,
then they will be put into
carton.
How long to get tin cans?
Lead time for standard or stock items is usually 3-6 weeks, custom
items are generally
6-10 weeks or longer depending on the complexity of the project.
How to seal the tin cans?
Commonly you can seal the tin cans with their existing sealing
machines, we will send
some sets of cans to customer for testing, the sample are free.
If the sealing parts were not suitable to our cans, we can supply
the suitable chuck/rollers.
If you do not have the sealing machine, we also supply the sealing
machine, you can
contact us for more details and quotation.
Are there any after-sale service for these cans?
Yes, following are some services for your reference.
Sealing parts service: When the buying quantity is big enough, we
will supply 1 sets of
chuck and rollers to our customer, it’s free.
Live work : Every one or two years, our engineer will go to
customer’s factory and see
what can we do. Our engineer can help you to adjust the machines
and improve the
processing etc.
Lid loss compensation: We will supply customer some free lids as
loss compensation
every year.
