Definition and composition: Tinplate coil (ETP), commonly known as tinplate coil, refers to a
cold-rolled thin steel plate with a thin layer of metal tin on the
surface. It is based on a stampable thin steel plate, and tin is
plated on its surface to form a steel product with a multi-layer
protective film.
Performance characteristics: It has the characteristics of non-toxic, odorless, glossy surface,
light weight, high strength, easy to print, easy to weld and
process, and strong adaptability to ambient temperature.
Application areas: such as cans, beverage cans, etc. It is also widely used in the
field of home appliances to make the shells of refrigerators,
ovens, etc., in the automotive field to make automotive interior
and exterior panels, and in the furniture field to make furniture
back panels, drawer panels and other parts.
Definition and composition: Tin free steel coil (TFS)refers to a steel plate with a layer of
chrome on the surface. Its structure has four layers, namely steel
substrate, metal chromium layer, hydrated chromium oxide layer and
oil film.
Performance characteristics: The cost is lower than that of tinplate, the adhesion to organic
coatings is stronger than that of tinplate, the resistance to
sulfide corrosion is also stronger than that of tinplate, and the
high temperature resistance is strong. However, the appearance
gloss is not as good as tinplate, the corrosion resistance is not
as good as tinplate, the coating is thin and the pinhole rate is
high, it cannot be soldered, and can only be overlapped by
resistance welding or bonding. The coating is thin and the
toughness is poor, and the can is easy to break. It is not suitable
for punching cans, but can be used for deep punching cans.
Application fields: widely used in furniture manufacturing, architectural decoration,
automobile manufacturing, electronic equipment and other fields,
such as chairs, tables, bed frames, etc. in furniture, automobile
exteriors and decorative parts, decorative panels, handrails,
guardrails and other products in architectural decoration.

TIN FREE STEEL( TFS) TFS is electrolytic chromium coated steel, which has a superior
paintability and paint adhesion. Since TFS has an excellent sulfide stain resistance, it can be
applied to food usage with inside coating. |

Applications of Tinplate and TFS |
ETP is primarily used for packaging foodstuffs and beverages, but
it is also used in containers for oils, grease, paints, polishes,
chemicals and many other products. Aerosol containers and caps and

TFS are most frequently used for can tops, screw and lug caps, snap
and press-on closures and shallow-drawn food cans. |
