The heel incision device is used to collect quality blood samples from infants for metabolic screening as well as glucose and other tests. Automatic retraction is designed to avoid needlestick injuries and cross-contamination exposure. The heel lancet for newborn produces less bruising and requires less punctures to obtain sufficient volumes of blood.

Studies have shown that the need for repeat sticks when using a micro-blade infant lancet is virtually eliminated, also a reduction in pain response from the infant test subjects. Post testing showed that the incision site is often well healed within 24 hours with minimal signs of prolonged superficial bruising or hematoma. Step 1: Select the optimal lancing site in the above highlighted part;

Step 2: Remove the safety tab and make the heel lancet ready for sampling.

Step 3: Put the puncture slot (arrow part) against the heel firmly, press the button and make the penetration done.

Step 4: Collect the blood samples with a capillary tube (or similar device), or allow the blood to drip on the specimen collection card directly.
