The N401 board supports electrical cross-connections, transparent transmission of one channel of 10M Ethernet service, OTN interfaces, and ESC communication.

The N401 board can work in either line mode or relay mode. Table 1 and Table 2 describe the functions and features of the board.

Cross-connect capabilities

Supports backplane cross-connections of 80 ODU0, 40 ODU1, 10 ODU2, 10 ODU2e, 2 ODU3, 1 ODU4, or 80 ODUflex signals from/to the cross-connect board.

OTN functions
  • Supports OTU4 interface the WDM side.
  • Supports the OTN frame format and overhead processing defined by ITU-T G.709.
  • OTU4 layer: supports SM overhead processing.
  • ODUk (k=0, 1, 2, 2e, 3, 4, flex) layer: supports PM and TCM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of PM and TCM overheads.
  • ODUflex layer: supports PM overhead processing, and non-intrusive monitoring of the PM overhead.
WDM specification

Supports ITU-T G.694.1-compliant DWDM specifications.

Tunable wavelength function

The WDM side optical signals can be carried over wavelengths in the extended C band.

Supports 50 GHz and 37.5 GHz channel spacing designs. A total of 96 wavelengths can be configured for 50 GHz channel spacing and 128 wavelengths for 37.5 GHz channel spacing.
