There are several steps when selecting the ECG lead cable to
connect to a defibrillator:
1. Turn on the power and check the synchronization performance,
select the higher lead for R-wave inspection.
2. After anesthesia is performed as required, the electrode pads
must be placed as required.
3. You must choose the amount of charging energy to ensure safe use
of electricity.
4. Unrelated personnel should not come into contact with the
patient, hospital bed or equipment connected to the patient.
5. ECG, blood pressure, respiration and consciousness should be
monitored after electric shock.

Do the ECG monitoring leads need to be removed during
defibrillation?
Answer: This requires checking whether the ECG monitoring leads
equipped with the bedside ECG monitor are defibrillation-proof ECG
lead wires. If it is a defibrillation-proof ECG lead wire, it does
not need to be removed during defibrillation. Otherwise, the
bedside ECG monitoring wire needs to be removed.
When defibrillating, should I choose lead II or lead Paddles? Is
there a difference between the two?
Answer: When using a defibrillator for ECG monitoring, lead II
should be selected; if a defibrillator is not used to monitor the
patient's heart rhythm, when the patient suddenly changes and it is
judged that defibrillation is needed, the lead should be
immediately adjusted to Paddles lead. , which makes it easier to
check whether the patient has ventricular fibrillation or pulseless
ventricular tachycardia before charging for defibrillation. Because
after choosing Paddles leads, you only need to place the two
electrode pads on the chest to check the patient's heart rhythm,
which is much faster than checking the heart rate by connecting
cable leads and pasting electrode pads.
How to monitor whether the monitoring function of the defibrillator
is intact?
Answer: Select the lead as Paddles lead, and touch the sternum and
apex electrode pads with both hands respectively. If the ECG
waveform is displayed on the screen, it means that the monitoring
function of the defibrillator is good.
Is it necessary to check the defibrillator every day and check the
system time on the instrument?
Answer: Yes, the power plug should be unplugged every day and the
defibrillator should be tested to ensure smooth use during rescue.
You also need to pay attention to the system time and calibrate it
according to the time. Because after each defibrillation operation,
the instrument will automatically print a record based on the
system time. If the system time is wrong, you will face
embarrassment when providing evidence in medical disputes.
Currently, there are quality standards that stipulate that the time
difference between the defibrillator and Beidi cannot be greater
than 2 minutes.
