About Philip Goldway UT4000F Patient Monitor

The Philip Goldway UT4000F patient monitor is a medical device used to monitor patients' vital signs and parameters in a healthcare setting.

Some of the key features of the UT4000F are:

  • Display: It has a high-resolution color TFT display that displays multiple waveforms and numerical data at the same time. The screen size varies depending on the model.

  • Parameters: It can measure a number of parameters including ECG, SpO2 (Oxygen Saturation), NIBP (Non-Invasive Blood Pressure), Respiratory Rate, Temperature and optionally Invasive Blood Pressure and cardiac output.

  • Alarms: Offers customizable upper and lower alarm limits for each parameter. The monitor alerts healthcare providers when any vital signs exceed pre-set alarm limits.

  • Battery: It has a built-in rechargeable battery that ensures uninterrupted monitoring even during power outages or patient transport.

  • Data storage and connectivity: It has a built-in memory that can store patient data for up to 72 hours. Enables data transfer via USB or Ethernet to an electronic health record (EMR) system.

  • Intuitive user interface: The monitor has an intuitive user interface with touch screen functions for easy navigation and setup.

  • Portability: Relatively light and compact, suitable for bedside monitoring or ambulatory use.

Troubleshooting for Philip Goldway UT4000F Patient Monitor

► when the instrument is turned on. There is no on-screen display and no indicator light.

Monitoring and analysis: If the instrument is connected to AC power without being turned on, the power light should be orange (or red); after switching on. The light should be green. Therefore:

(1) Check whether the mains socket and the two fuses on the back of the instrument are normal, that is, check whether there is AC input;

(2) Turn on the instrument and determine whether the switching power supply has a 15V DC output if there is a 220V AC input;

(3) If the instrument is turned on without AC power, the display will not appear and the indicator will not light. Indicates that the battery is low or damaged.

Solution:

(1) Connect all connecting parts reliably and make sure there is AC input;

(2) If your switching power supply does not have 15V output, you need to replace the switching power supply:

(3) Connect AC power to charge the instrument. If the battery is still low after 24 hours of charging, it means the battery is damaged and needs to be replaced.

► When the meter is turned on, the screen is blank. The light is always orange (or red).

Control and analysis: The light is orange. Indicates that the switching power supply has a 15V DC output:

(1) Turn on the instrument and use a multimeter to check whether the power switch is damaged;

(2) Check that the connection cable between the switch and the motherboard is not loose or damaged.

Solution:

(1) Replace the power switch;

(2) Connect the cable reliably; if it does not turn on, replace the motherboard.

► When the meter is turned on, there is no display on the screen, but the light is green.

Check and Analysis: If the button can start inflation at this time or you hear a heartbeat while measuring blood oxygen, it means the meter is turned on, but the TFT screen does not light up. Open the tool and check:

(1) There is an input voltage between 2.5V and 5.4V on the inverter power board or the connector is loose:

(2) Use a multimeter to check whether the inverter has high voltage output.

Solution:

(1) Connect the connection cable reliably and ensure the 2.5-5.4V output:

(2) If there is no high voltage output, replace the inverter.

► When the meter is turned on, the screen is blank. But there is a raster (commonly known as white screen) or the display colors are messed up.

Control and analysis: the TFT screen lights up. But the display part of the PC104 board is defective. The display signal cannot be output correctly

Solution: replace the PC104 board.
