CVD Lab Grown Diamonds Description

CVD means 'Chemical Vapor Deposition'. It is a growth method for creating lab grown diamonds, and there is also HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) method, which are currently the two most important methods in the cultivating diamond market.

Under magnified the internal inclusions of CVD diamonds are mainly sparse clouds. In addition, under the diamond observer, the diamonds glow in purple and are accompanied by layers of growth patterns, which are typical identification features of CVD diamonds.

CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) diamonds are based on seed diamonds. With the aid of high-purity methane, hydrogen, nitrogen and other gases, the carbon molecules in methane and diamonds are continuously accumulated on the original diamonds in a microwave oven under high pressure. After layer-by-layer diffusion, transparent diamonds of up to 10 carats can be formed. In order to make CVD diamond grow smoothly, methane with a diamond structure is usually used as a carbon source. Methane can be regarded as monoatomic diamond produced by hydrogen pressure. The quality of lab grown diamond is almost the same as that of natural diamonds, which is difficult to distinguish with the naked eye. Lab grown diamond is just like natural diamond. Its hardness, density, thermal conductivity, brightness, sparkle and fire color are almost the same as natural diamonds.

CVD Lab Grown Diamonds Introduction

Natural diamonds are created by nature and are the result of high temperature and pressure formed over billions of years. The Lab Grown Diamonds are produced in the laboratory, usually in a few weeks. The chemical difference between the two is same.

So how do you distinguish between Lab Grown Diamonds and natural diamonds?

There is no obvious difference between the Lab Grown Diamonds and natural diamonds. Even professional gemologists need special equipment to identify them. By zooming in, professionals will be able to discern subtle contrasts in diamond inclusions grown and mined in the laboratory.
