DWDM Mux/Demux Description

40CH 100G Athermal AWG DWDM Mux/Demux Module in 1U Rackmount is a highperformance DWDM mux/demux device operating on 100GHz/200GHz channel spacing without the need for temperature stabilization. The planar processed silica-on-silicon chips comprise arrayed channel waveguides to separate or combine multiple wavelengths. Athermal AWG s allow multiplexing and demultiplexing of DWDM signals over a wide operating temperature range, without the need for heater drive and monitoring electronics.These AWG offer low insertion loss,excellent channel isolation, ease of fiber handling, and long-term reliability in a compact package.

Athermal AWG(AAWG) have equivalent performance to standard Thermal AWG(TAWG) but require no electrical power for stabilization. They can be used as direct replacements for Thin Film Filters(Filter type DWDM module) for cases where no power is available, also suitable for outdoor applications over -30 to +70 degree in access networks.
