Application of Air Spring Bellows in Paper Manufacturing
(1) Felt Deviation Control
During the operation of a paper machine's press felt, pneumatic
bellows ensure precise actuation force for the deflection
correction system. By adjusting the air pressure in real time, the
system can respond quickly to felt deflections and maintain a felt
deflection correction accuracy within 0.5 mm. This reduces downtime
due to felt misalignment and extends its service life.
(2) Fabric Tension Control
In the press felt section of the paper machine, pneumatic bellows
ensure stable operation of the forming fabric through precise
tension control. Air pressure is adjusted according to machine
speed to maintain optimal tension. Compared to mechanical
processes, this method improves energy efficiency and response
speed.
(3) Calender Pressure Uniformity
The calender with pneumatic bellows allows precise control of roll
pressure through independent multi-point adjustment. This ensures
uniform pressure distribution across the entire roll surface and
eliminates the "balling effect" common in conventional mechanical
processes. This improves paper thickness uniformity and increases
product grade.
(4) Constant Doctor Pressure
The pneumatic bellows of the doctor unit maintains constant
pressure, ensuring stable contact between the doctor blade and the
roll surface. This significantly reduces scratches caused by
pressure fluctuations, improves paper surface quality, and extends
doctor blade replacement intervals.
