LH Overview
Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a glycoprotein adenotropin secreted by the basophilic bulb of the anterior pituitary gland. Is used to promote ovulation. Synergistic with FSH to form the corpus luteum and secrete progesterone. In general, the normal value of non-ovulation period is 5-25 miU/ml, less than 5 miU/ml, which is the time-cold syndrome caused by insufficient gonadotropin function. High FSH and high LH are markers of decreased ovarian function. If LH/FSH≥3, it is one of the basis for the diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome.
