FSH overview
FSH, also known as follicle stimulating hormone, is secreted by the pituitary gland. For women, its main function is to promote the development and maturation of ovarian follicles. In cooperation with luteinizing hormone (LH), FSH promotes the mature follicles to secrete estrogen and ovulate, and participates in the formation of normal menstruation.
