The heat loss of exterior door and window glass is the main part of building energy consumption, accounting for more than 50% of building energy consumption. Relevant research data shows that the heat transfer on the inner surface of the glass is mainly radiation, accounting for 58%, which means that the performance of the glass must be changed to reduce the loss of heat energy.

The most effective method is to suppress the radiation on its inner surface. The emissivity of ordinary float glass is as high as 0.84. When a layer of low emissivity film based on silver is plated, its emissivity can be reduced to below 0.15. Therefore, the use of Low-E glass for building doors and windows can greatly reduce the transmission of indoor heat energy caused by radiation to the outside, and achieve the ideal energy-saving effect.

Good optical performance:

The visible light transmittance of Low-E glass ranges from 0% to 95% in theory (it is difficult to achieve with 6mm white glass). The visible light transmittance represents the day-lighting in the room. The outdoor reflectance is from about 10% to 30%. The outdoor reflectance is the visible light reflectance, which represents the intensity of reflection or dazzling degree. At present, China requires that the visible light reflectance of the curtain wall is not greater than 30%.

Influence of changes in ambient temperature and pressure: Changes in ambient temperature and pressure will cause the gas in the enclosed cavity of the hollow glass to expand or contract, and the hollow glass will appear convex or concave, resulting in an additional deformation of about 10%. The non-equal thickness (that is, the outer sheet is thick and the inner sheet is thin) glass configuration is beneficial to reduce the deformation of the outer sheet of glass.

3. Noise reduction. PVB film has an obstructive effect on sound waves, and the use of LOW-E laminated insulating glass can effectively block the propagation of sound and reduce noise.

4. Anti-ultraviolet rays. Low-E glass curtain wall has a very high blocking effect on ultraviolet rays (up to 99% or more), which can prevent valuable indoor furniture, curtains, displays or other items from being affected by ultraviolet radiation.
