Low voltage cable structure
It consists of three parts: core, insulating layer and protective
layer. The wire core is used to conduct current, and is generally
formed by twisting multiple strands of copper wire or multiple
strands of aluminum wire. There are several types of low-voltage
cables, such as single-core, double-core, three-core, and
four-core. Two-core cables are used for single-phase lines,
three-core and four-core cables are used for three-phase three-wire
lines and three-phase four-wire lines respectively, and single-core
cables can be used for single-phase or three-phase lines as
required. Commonly used low-voltage cables have core
cross-sectional areas of 10, 16, 25, 35, 50, 70, 95, 120, 150, 185,
240 mm, etc.
The protective layer
One or more layers of metallic or non-metallic material covering
the cable. The protective layer is used to protect the insulating
layer from external damage and moisture intrusion during
transportation, laying and use.
(1) Paper insulated cable protective layer. The protective layer of
the paper insulated cable is divided into two parts, the inner
sheath and the outer sheath. The inner sheath is directly extruded
on the insulating layer, which not only protects the insulation
from moisture, but also prevents the insulating oil from flowing
out, and has a certain mechanical strength. There are three types
of inner sheath: lead cladding, aluminum cladding and polyvinyl
chloride cladding. The outer sheath protects the inner sheath to
increase the ability of the cable to withstand external mechanical
forces and resist corrosion. The outer sheath includes an inner
liner layer, a metal armor layer and an outer layer. The inner
lining layer protects the metal sheath from being damaged by the
metal armor layer, and anti-corrosion measures can be added; the
metal armor layer can withstand mechanical external force; the
outer layer can protect the armor metal from external corrosion.
(2) Plastic cable protection layer. Usually a polyvinyl chloride
sheath is used over the plastic insulation.
(3) The protective layer of the rubber cable. The protective layer
of the rubber cable is divided into an inner sheath and an outer
sheath. There are three types of inner sheath: PVC sheath, neoprene
rubber sheath (non-combustible rubber) and lead sheath; the outer
sheath is divided into three types: steel tape armor, rubber sheath
and plastic sheath.
VLV22 is VV copper core cable replaced by aluminum core cable, double steel tape wrapped armored power cable; the following electric encyclopedia will introduce what kind of cable vlv22 is, the picture and model specification of vlv22 cable, and the ampacity meter of vlv22 cable.
Full name of VLV22 cable: aluminum core conductor PVC insulated PVC
inner sheath double steel tape wrapped armored PVC outer sheath
power cable. VLV22 cable code meaning:
The first V: cable insulation material PVC
First L: Aluminum
The second V: cable inner sheath sheath material PVC
The first 2 means galvanized steel tape armor
The second 2 indicates that the outer sheath of the cable is PVC
sheath material
The difference between VLV22 and YJLV22 cables
YJLV22 is cross-linked insulated, PVC sheathed aluminum core
armored cable.
VLV22 is PVC insulated, PVC sheathed aluminum core armored cable.
The current carrying capacity of the two cables is different. The
temperature of the core of the YJV cable can reach 90 degrees,
while the temperature of the core of the VV cable is generally only
65 degrees.
YJLV22 is more expensive than VLV22 cables.
