Insulation Breakdown Detection: One of the primary purposes of a Hipot Tester is to detect insulation breakdown, also known as dielectric breakdown. Insulation breakdown occurs when the electrical voltage exceeds the insulation's capability, leading to a sudden flow of excessive current through the insulation. The tester identifies such breakdowns by monitoring the leakage current and triggering an alarm or stopping the test when the current exceeds a predefined threshold.
