Reflective Tape Description

As the name implies, reflective tape reflects light. For example, a beam from a headlight will bounce off a surface and be visible to the driver even though the tape itself has no light source.
Reflective tape also reflects light. However, it has one important property that regular reflective tape lacks. Reflective strips cause light to bounce back in the exact direction of its source. The intensity of the reflection makes it easier for other drivers to see.
Reflective tape has been found to be more effective at improving visibility, especially when it relies on specific colors and patterns. The U.S. Department of Transportation has required trucks and trailers to use reflective strips to provide optimal visibility for drivers. To comply, trucks need to use tape that meets size and color requirements and has reflective properties.
Semi-trailers, trailers, and tractors not only need reflective tape to comply with DOT regulations, but they also need a product with specific qualities. DOT C2 is highly reflective, has an alternating red and white color pattern, and is 2 inches wide. These properties allow DOT C2 to comply with truck rules and regulations.
