Basic introduction
Vietnam's MIC department issued an announcement in early 2016 that
from October 1 this year, all lithium batteries, including those
sold independently and used in end products (notebooks, tablets,
mobile phones, etc.) will require a DOC certificate (standard
number: QCVN 101:2006/BTTTT). The above products will also be
required to provide the DoC of the battery when undergoing Vietnam
MIC certification.
On July 4, 2016, the MIC department considered that the product
testing and certification cycle was too long and battery
manufacturers did not have enough time to meet the certification
requirements, and issued another notice: Postponing the mandatory
certification date for battery products to April 1, 2017 .
The following is the notice of Vietnam MIC delaying the
implementation of compulsory certification of battery products:
The Ministry of Information and Communications of the Socialist
Republic of Vietnam (MIC) implements mandatory TCVN/TCN standards
and specifications for electromagnetic interference and
communication products in the information product category. For the
electromagnetic interference part, local suppliers can submit an
application in the form of self-declaration. After final approval
by the Ministry of Information, the products can be sold in the
Vietnamese market.
The IEC testing standards corresponding to Vietnam's battery
certification regulations QCVN 101:2016/BTTTT are IEC61960
(2011)  and IEC62133 (2012). [Note: These two standards
must be met at the same time to meet the QCVN standards. 】
