The SMF Series Transient Voltage Suppressors are designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from transient voltages caused by lightning and other transient voltage events that can damage electronic equipment and interfere with normal use of the equipment.

• A typical failure mode is a short circuit due to overvoltage or overcurrent.
• The whisker test is carried out according to JEDEC JESD201A tables 4a and 4c.
