Types of lithium battery protection boards:

1. From the overcharge and over-discharge functions of lithium batteries

If we divide them from the performance of lithium battery charging and discharging, the protection boards can be roughly divided into two types. One is a single function, that is, a unidirectional overcharge protection for the battery, or a unidirectional over-discharge protection for the battery. The other is a bidirectional protection, which has both overcharge and over-discharge functions. At present, the application of bidirectional protection boards is wider than that of single protection boards.

2. From the combination of lithium battery packs

The different series and parallel connection methods of lithium battery packs also directly lead to different lithium battery protection boards. Battery packs can be roughly divided into two categories: series and parallel. The series battery pack is to increase the overall voltage, and the parallel battery pack is to increase the overall capacity. Therefore, the lithium battery protection board is also divided into two types according to the two connection methods of the battery pack.

3. From the perspective of customer requirements

Lithium battery protection boards are used in various fields, but the voltage and current requirements for lithium battery packs in each field are different. It is precisely because of the different parameter requirements that the lithium battery protection board needs to change the internal components to change the specific parameters of the protection board.

Wiring precautions:
1. Installing the protective board requires a certain amount of technical electronic knowledge.
2. When wiring, first connect the B- wire at the soldering pad position to the total negative terminal of the battery (the B- wire should be soldered to a short and thick wire) and solder the wired terminal to the battery pack first, and then insert the protective plate.
3. The connection between the battery terminal B- and the protection board terminal B- should be short and thick, otherwise it will cause the protection board to charge and discharge in advance and malfunction.

4. You need to use thick wires when wiring P+/P-. Wires that are too thin and too long will burn the board!
