Lithium iron phosphate batteries cannot be without protection boards. Lithium iron phosphate batteries have many superior characteristics such as high energy, wide operating temperature range, stable operating voltage, and long storage life. However, lithium iron phosphate batteries also have instability problems such as fire in harsh environments. Therefore, the protection board is very important for the safety protection of lithium iron phosphate batteries.

When choosing a lithium battery protection board, you need to see what battery cell is used, whether it is a ternary lithium battery or a lithium iron phosphate battery. These two types of lithium batteries cannot be mixed. Select the corresponding protection board according to the battery cell. After the type of protection board is selected, you need to choose the voltage of the protection board, that is, how many batteries are bought, how many V are connected in series, and how many batteries are used. For example, 16 batteries connected in series are 16 strings, so you must buy a protection board for 16 strings.


The maximum cut-off voltage for charging a single cell of a ternary lithium battery is 4.2V, the standard voltage is 3.7V, and the general minimum cut-off voltage for discharge is 3V. The maximum cut-off voltage for charging a lithium iron phosphate battery is 3.65V, the standard voltage is 3.2V, and the minimum cut-off voltage for discharge is 2.5V. How many V is the original battery of an electric vehicle? You can calculate it using the standard voltage of each cell of a lithium battery. For example, the original lead-acid battery of an electric vehicle is 48V. If you want to replace it with a lithium iron phosphate battery, the standard voltage of each lithium iron phosphate battery is 3.2V. 15 strings are 48V. In actual use, 16 strings are used, which is more than 3V higher than the original battery. This will not damage the controller and motor, but has many advantages. Many people use it this way.

Wiring precautions:
1. Installing the protective board requires a certain amount of technical electronic knowledge.
2. When wiring, first connect the B- wire at the soldering pad position to the total negative terminal of the battery (the B- wire should be soldered to a short and thick wire) and solder the wired terminal to the battery pack first, and then insert the protective plate.
3. The connection between the battery terminal B- and the protection board terminal B- should be short and thick, otherwise it will cause the protection board to charge and discharge in advance and malfunction.

4. You need to use thick wires when wiring P+/P-. Wires that are too thin and too long will burn the board!
