corrosion-resistant nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy designed for
exceptional performance in a wide range of severe environments. The

Composition: Hastelloy C276 is composed primarily of nickel, chromium, and
molybdenum, with smaller amounts of iron, tungsten, and cobalt. The
approximate composition is:
- Nickel: 57%
- Chromium: 16%
- Molybdenum: 16%
- Iron: 5%
- Tungsten: 3%
- Cobalt: 2%
Characteristics:
- Corrosion Resistance: Hastelloy C276 exhibits excellent resistance to both localized and
general corrosion in a variety of environments, including oxidizing
and reducing conditions. It is particularly resistant to pitting,
crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
- High-Temperature Strength: The alloy maintains good mechanical properties at high
temperatures, making it suitable for use in applications up to
1093°C (2000°F).
- Formability: Hastelloy C276 is readily formed by standard fabrication
techniques, including welding, machining, and forming.
