The Voluson S6 is capable of conducting exams in both 2D, 3D and 4D (the ultrasound term for "live 3D" exams). It is compatible with the the popular RAB4-8-RS 3D/4D abdominal transducer, as well as the RIC5-9w-RS endovaginal transducer for 3D/4D OB-GYN exams. Other transducers include regular 2D abdominal transducers, linear array transducers, and endovaginal probes.
