Monel K500/UNS N05500/2.4375 High-Strength Wire for Chemical Processing Environments
Monel K-500 is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant nickel-copper alloy that combines the properties of Monel 400 with the enhanced strength and hardness provided by aluminum and titanium. It is composed of approximately 63% nickel, 30% copper, and small amounts of aluminum and titanium. Monel K-500 is known for its exceptional strength, hardness, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, making it ideal for applications in challenging environments.
This alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in seawater, acids, alkalis, and other harsh conditions, similar to Monel 400, but with additional benefits of increased strength and wear resistance. Monel K-500 maintains good mechanical properties at both low and high temperatures, making it suitable for marine, aerospace, and chemical processing industries. It is non-magnetic, highly resistant to oxidation, and offers superior fatigue resistance.
