Ceiling Suspended Air Handling Units (often abbreviated as Ceiling
Suspended AHUs) refer to a type of air handling equipment designed to be mounted
or suspended from the ceiling or within the ceiling void of a
building.
These units are engineered to process and condition air—performing
functions such as filtering, heating, cooling, humidifying,
dehumidifying, or ventilating air—before distributing it into the
occupied spaces via ductwork.
Their suspended installation design saves floor space, making them ideal for environments where ground area is limited, such as commercial buildings (offices, shopping malls), hospitals, hotels, or educational facilities.
Typically compact in structure to fit within ceiling cavities, they
integrate components like fans, filters, coils (for
heating/cooling), and sometimes humidifiers, working as a key part
of a building’s HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
system to maintain desired indoor air quality and thermal comfort.
