Description
The price of medical oxygen generators is much higher than that of industrial ones because medical oxygen is managed as a "medicine" (in accordance with the "Pharmaceutical Administration Law of the People's Republic of China"). The oxygen concentration produced by medical oxygen generators must be stable at 93% ± 3%, and the impurities such as water, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide in the oxygen must be strictly controlled (for example, the water content must be ≤ 0.07g/m³ to avoid pipe freezing or bacterial growth; the carbon monoxide content must be ≤ 5×10⁻⁶ to prevent poisoning). The oxygen produced must also be sterilized to prevent contamination of the patient's respiratory tract. The manufacturers of medical oxygen generators must obtain medical device registration and certification, and the entire process from research and development, production to after-sales service must comply with the (ISO 13485) medical device quality management system. Each device must be tested and qualified before leaving the factory. In contrast, industrial oxygen generators have flexible requirements for oxygen purity and loose control over impurities, as long as they meet production needs.
