430 stainless steel plate, hot-rolled industrial plate, supports polishing, brushing, cutting round plate
430 stainless steel is a general-purpose steel with good corrosion resistance, better thermal conductivity than austenite, smaller thermal expansion coefficient than austenite, heat fatigue resistance, and good mechanical properties of the weld part due to the addition of the stabilizing element titanium. 430 stainless steel is used for architectural decoration, fuel burner parts, household appliances, and home appliance parts. 430F is a steel with easy-cutting properties added to 430 steel, mainly used for automatic lathes, bolts and nuts, etc. 430LX adds Ti or Nb to 430 steel and reduces the C content, improving the processing and welding properties. It is mainly used for hot water tanks, hot water supply systems, sanitary appliances, household durable appliances, bicycle flywheels, etc.
Due to its chromium content, it is also called 18/0 or 18-0. Compared with 18/8 and 18/10, it contains slightly less chromium and the hardness is correspondingly lower.
Applications Stainless steel will not corrode, pit, rust or wear.
Function: Used as containers for food, such as pots, bowls, basins, etc. Used for architectural decoration and oil burner parts.
430 stainless steel plate is a ferritic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and stable physical properties. Its chemical composition mainly includes carbon (C) ≤0.12%, silicon (Si) ≤0.75%, manganese (Mn) ≤1.00%, phosphorus (P) ≤0.040%, sulfur (S) ≤0.030%, nickel (Ni) ≤0.60% (included), chromium (Cr) 16.00~18.00%. In some cases, molybdenum (Mo) 2.00~3.00% may also be included.
C | Si | Mn | P | S | Ni | Cr | Mo |
≤0.12% | ≤0.75% | ≤1.00% | ≤0.040% | ≤0.030% | ≤0.60% | 16.00~18.00% | 2.00~3.00% |
Physical properties
The density of 430 stainless steel plate is 7.75g/cm³ and the
melting point is 1427℃. Its thermal conductivity is better than
that of austenitic stainless steel, its thermal expansion
coefficient is small, and its thermal fatigue resistance is good.
Corrosion resistance
430 stainless steel plate has good corrosion resistance under most
environmental conditions and is not easy to rust. However, it
cannot resist oxidation caused by chemicals in the air, so
oxidation (rust) may occur in an environment with more chemicals.
Application fields
430 stainless steel plates are widely used in architectural
decoration, fuel burner parts, household appliances, home appliance
parts, etc. Due to its relatively low price, it is often used as an
alternative to 304 stainless steel. In addition, specific models
such as 430F and 430LX have free cutting performance and improved
processing and welding performance, respectively, and are suitable
for automatic lathes, bolts, nuts, hot water tanks, hot water
supply systems, sanitary appliances, etc.

There is another type of stainless steel, 201, 202, 203, 204, which
has low chromium content and high manganese content (high chromium
can increase corrosion resistance, and high manganese can make the
material non-magnetic). This type of stainless steel has poor
corrosion resistance and is generally used for decoration in dry
environments.
Grading and Process
Surface Grade
430 stainless steel has the following states, and different states
have different dirt resistance and corrosion resistance.
NO.1, 1D, 2D, 2B, N0.4, HL, BA, Mirror, and various other surface
treatment states.
Featured Processing Technology
1D—The surface has discontinuous granularity, also known as matte.
Processing Technology: hot rolling + annealing shot peening
pickling + cold rolling + annealing pickling.
2D—Silver-white with a slight gloss. Processing Technology: hot
rolling + annealing shot peening pickling + cold rolling +
annealing pickling.

Material properties
430 stainless steel has the ability to resist oxidation and
corrosion, but has a tendency to intergranular corrosion.
430 stainless steel wire is widely used in axles.
Because it is safe and non-toxic, it is widely used in food and
tableware.
