1. What is Friction Welding?
Manufactured with precision, the sprocket body for the carrier is
made from high-grade materials such as 40Mn2, 40MnB, and 50Mn,
chosen to meet the diverse requirements of various working
conditions. The wheel body is processed through a systematic
forging and normalization procedure, followed by a state-of-the-art
spray heating and quenching method. This ensures the tread surface
achieves a hardness range of HRC52 to HRC62, with a hardened layer
depth of 7-10mm and a minimum hardness of HRC45.
2.Advantages/Features
During friction welding, the contact surface of the metal to be welded undergoes relative motion under pressure, resulting in frictional heat generation. When the temperature reaches a certain level, the metal undergoes plastic deformation and welding is achieved under the action of forging pressure. Due to the fact that the metal did not reach its melting point during the entire welding process, friction welding has the advantages of high welding joint quality, weld strength equal to the base material, high welding efficiency, stable quality, and good consistency.
